What healthcare experts are talking about the screen time problem:
One of the biggest fights in my own home is over how much time my kids spend on their devices. Here are ways to avoid the hazards of spending so much time staring at screens. Monitor your monitor. Your monitor should be at least 24-28 inches from your eyes, with the center about four to six inches below eye level.
This is all about teaching kids self-control, and what we have learned through the research is that it's absolutely teachable. So, I would really discourage a family from getting a child a device when they don't feel like they are going to be able to control themselves from when they use it. I found the best way to manage my own family's screen use was having boundaries.
Children can't always distinguish what is virtual and what is real. It is parents responsibility to monitor access to games and content that is above a child's age.
